Teams
Create a Linq team, invite colleagues by email, manage seats, team cards and roles, see team insights, and join a team you're invited to.
Teams give everyone at your company an on-brand digital card, managed in one place. Each member gets a team card in your brand, and owners and admins can keep every card complete and live, and see how the team’s cards perform.
Teams are part of Linq Pro ($5.99 a month), which includes 3 seats: you and two colleagues. Each extra member is $2.99 a month. Colleagues join with a free account. See Seats and Plans and billing.
Create a team
- If you’re on the Free plan, upgrade first from Plan. See Upgrade to Pro.
- Open Teams from the menu (on your phone, it’s under More).
- Enter a Team name, pick a Brand color, and select Create team.
You become the team’s owner and get your own team card straight away. The team’s pages are in its menu: Overview, Team cards, Members, Insights, Plan & seats, Physical cards and Settings.
Invite people
Owners and admins can invite colleagues:
- In the team, go to Members and select Invite people.
- Enter one or more email addresses (separate them with commas or new lines) and choose a Role.
- Select Send invitation.
Each person gets an email from Linq with a button to join. You can also Copy link to send the invitation another way. Invitations work for 7 days, and each one uses a seat until it’s accepted, cancelled or expires.
Open invitations are listed under Invitations on the Members page, where you can:
- Copy link to send it yourself;
- Extend it for another 7 days, which emails it again, or Renew an expired one;
- cancel it with × to free its seat.
If the team is out of seats, owners are offered Add seats. Admins can select Ask the owners for seats, which emails the team’s owners.
Join a team
- Open the invitation email and select the button to join.
- Create your free account, or sign in, with the address the invitation was sent to. Linq fills it in for you.
- You join the team straight away and land on its Overview, with your team card ready to fill in.
Signed in with a different account? The invitation page tells you, and Switch account lets you sign in with the invited address. If the link doesn’t work, see Troubleshooting.
Seats
Pro includes 3 seats for each team: the owner and two members. Each member, and each open invitation, uses a seat.
To add or remove seats (owners only):
- In the team, open Plan & seats.
- Under Extra seats you pay for, choose how many with + and −.
- Select Add seats with PayPal and approve the change on PayPal, or select Remove seats.
Extra seats cost $2.99 a month each, billed through PayPal as their own subscription. A new number of seats is billed from your next payment date (PayPal doesn’t prorate). Seats you remove stay available until the end of the period you’ve paid for. We email you to confirm each change. Payments already made aren’t refunded; see the Refund Policy.
If a team has several owners, each can pay for extra seats, and they add up. A team can’t go below the seats it uses: cancel invitations or remove members first. Cancelling Pro cancels your extra seats too.
Team cards
Every member has a team card: a digital card in the team’s brand, with its own link and QR code. Team cards lists everyone’s card and whether it’s Live, a Draft or not created yet.
Owners and admins can:
- edit any member’s team card, and Publish card or Take card offline;
- Create card for a member who doesn’t have one yet;
- Apply team brand to put the team’s company name, website and color on every card at once;
- Copy link or Open card to share a card.
Members see their colleagues’ cards and can share or save them. You edit your own team card from Overview → Your team card.
The team brand (company name, website and brand color) is in Settings → Team brand. New team cards start with it.
Team insights
Owners and admins see Insights for the whole team, over the last 7, 30 or 90 days:
- views over time, and how many led to an action;
- where views came from: QR code, link, NFC, email signature or video call background;
- What people tap: the links on team cards that get tapped the most;
- By member: how each member’s card is doing.
Physical cards
Teams can own Linq NFC cards and give them to members. In Physical cards, give a card to a member by its serial, and a tap opens their team card. If someone leaves, their cards come back to the team. See Physical NFC cards.
Roles
| Role | Can |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything admins can do, plus seats and billing, and making others owners. A team always keeps at least one owner. |
| Admin | Invite people, edit and publish everyone’s team cards, see team insights and hand out physical cards. |
| Member | Fill in and share their team card, see the team’s cards, and get the contacts their card brings in. |
Owners change someone’s role on the Members page.
Emails about your team
- The person invited gets the invitation by email, and again whenever it’s extended.
- Owners, and whoever sent the invitation, get an email when someone joins.
- Owners get an email when the team uses its last seat, or when an admin asks for more seats.
- The owner who pays for extra seats gets an email when they’re confirmed, changed or cancelled.
- Someone removed from the team gets an email saying so.
See Email notifications.
Remove someone or leave
- To remove someone, open Members and select Remove from team next to them. Owners can remove anyone except the last owner; admins can remove members.
- To leave a team, open Settings → Leave team. If you’re the only owner, make someone else an owner first.
Either way, their team card goes offline, any physical cards the team gave them come back to the team, and the contacts their card collected stay with the team. Their seat frees up, and their personal card and contacts aren’t affected.
If the owner’s Pro ends
A team stays active while any of its owners has Pro. If that ends, the team is paused: its pages show This team is paused, and invitations can’t be accepted. Owners see an upgrade button; members are asked to contact an owner.
Nothing is deleted. Members, cards and documents are kept, everyone’s personal card keeps working, and the team comes back as soon as an owner has Pro again.
