Terms of Service
The terms for using Linq: your account, your card and contacts, teams, Linq Pro payments, cancellation, and what each of us is responsible for.
Last updated October 24, 2026
The short version
- Linq is free to start. Linq Pro is $5.99 a month, and extra team seats are $2.99 a month each, billed in advance through PayPal.
- You can cancel anytime. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for and won't be charged again. Payments already made aren't refunded.
- What you put on your card is yours. You let us host it and show it to the people you share it with.
- The contacts you collect are yours to look after: use them lawfully, and don't use Linq for spam or anything illegal.
This summary helps you find your way; the full text below is what applies.
1. About these terms
Linq Business (“Linq”, “we”, “us”) provides the Linq web app at app.linq-business.com, the Linq mobile apps, Linq NFC cards and this website (together, the “Service”).
These terms are an agreement between you and us. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them, along with our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, Cookie Policy and Acceptable Use Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
If you use Linq on behalf of a company or other organization, you confirm that you’re allowed to accept these terms for it, and “you” includes that organization.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live if it’s higher, to create an account.
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date. Your account is for one person: don’t share your sign-in details.
- You can sign in with an email address and password, or with Google or GitHub. Keep your sign-in method secure: you’re responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us straight away at hello@linq-business.com if you think someone else has access to it.
3. Your card and content
Your “content” is everything you add to the Service: your card details, photo and logo, documents, contacts, notes and team brand.
- You own your content. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, display and process it only as needed to run, secure and improve the Service for you. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep by law or that remain in backups for a limited time.
- Your card is public. Anyone with your card’s link, QR code or NFC card can see what you publish on it, save your contact details and download the documents you make public. Only publish what you’re happy to share.
- You’re responsible for your content. You confirm that you have the right to use everything you add (for example photos, logos and documents) and that it doesn’t break the law or anyone’s rights.
- We may remove content or take a card offline if it breaks these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or if the law requires it. Where reasonable, we’ll tell you why.
4. Contacts you collect
People can share their details with you from your card, and you can add or scan contacts yourself.
- For these contacts, you decide why and how they’re used. You’re responsible for using them lawfully, including data protection and anti-spam laws (for example, only sending marketing to people who agreed to it). We store and process them for you, following your instructions as set out in these terms and our Privacy Policy.
- If you export contacts or send them to another service (for example with webhooks, Zapier or Make), that service’s own terms apply to them from then on.
- For team cards, the contacts a card collects belong to the team (see section 5).
5. Teams
Teams are part of Linq Pro.
- A team owner with Pro covers a team of 3 seats (the owner and two others). Owners can buy extra seats at the price shown on our Pricing page. Each member and each open invitation uses a seat.
- Invitations are sent by email and work for 7 days. The person invited must join with the email address the invitation was sent to.
- Owners and admins can create, edit, publish and take offline the team’s cards, see the team’s insights and the contacts its cards collect, and remove members. Owners also manage seats and billing.
- When someone leaves or is removed, their team card goes offline and the contacts it collected stay with the team. Their personal card and contacts are not affected.
- A team stays active while at least one of its owners has Pro. If none does, the team is paused until an owner has Pro again. Nothing is deleted while it’s paused.
- The team owner is responsible for the team’s use of Linq, including inviting only people who expect to hear from the team.
6. Plans, payments and renewal
- Free and Pro. You can use Linq for free. Linq Pro and extra team seats are paid subscriptions. What each plan includes and its current price are shown on our Pricing page and in the app.
- Billing. Subscriptions are billed monthly, in advance, in US dollars, through PayPal, on the same day each month until you cancel. Extra seats are billed as a separate monthly PayPal subscription. When you change the number of seats, the new amount applies from your next billing date (charges aren’t prorated). If your PayPal account uses another currency, PayPal converts the amount and may charge a conversion fee.
- Payment details. PayPal processes your payment under its own terms. We never see or store your card or bank details.
- Taxes. Prices may not include taxes that apply where you live; where they do, they’re shown at checkout.
- Failed payments. If PayPal can’t take a payment, Pro features (including your teams) are paused until the payment goes through. We’ll email you if this happens.
- Price changes. We may change prices. We’ll tell you by email at least 30 days before a new price applies to your subscription; it starts from your next billing period after that. If you don’t want to pay the new price, you can cancel before it applies.
7. Cancellation and refunds
- You can cancel anytime from Plan & billing in the app, or from your PayPal account under automatic payments.
- Cancelling stops all future payments: you won’t be charged again. You keep Pro, and any extra seats, until the end of the period you’ve already paid for. After that your account moves to the Free plan; nothing is deleted.
- Payments are non-refundable. We don’t refund payments already made, including for partially used months or unused seats, except where the law requires it. See our Refund Policy for details.
8. NFC cards
Linq NFC cards open your digital card when tapped. Ordering is not yet open everywhere; when you join the waitlist, nothing is charged. The terms that apply to buying a card (price, delivery and returns) will be shown before you pay. You can register a card you already have from Physical cards in the app. If a card is lost, you can suspend or replace it.
9. Acceptable use
You agree to follow our Acceptable Use Policy. In short: don’t use Linq to mislead or harm people, to send spam, to break the law, or to interfere with the Service or other people’s use of it.
10. Suspension and closing your account
- You can stop using Linq at any time. To delete your account and its data, use Delete account in the mobile app’s Settings, or email hello@linq-business.com from the address on your account. Cancel any paid subscription first.
- We may suspend or close your account, or take a card offline, if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if we have to by law, or to protect people or the Service. Where reasonable, we’ll warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem and to export your content.
- When an account is closed, its cards stop working and its data is deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to the Service
We’re always improving Linq, so features may change. If we remove a paid feature you depend on or make a change that significantly reduces what Pro includes, we’ll tell you in advance, and you can cancel before the change applies.
12. Other services
The Service relies on and connects to services run by others, such as PayPal, Google and GitHub sign-in, and the tools you connect with webhooks. Their terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them. We’re not responsible for services we don’t control.
13. Our intellectual property
The Linq name, logo, apps, card designs and website are ours or our licensors’ and are protected by law. These terms don’t give you any right to use them, except to use the Service as intended. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without any obligation to you.
14. Disclaimers
We work hard to keep Linq available, secure and accurate, but the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we don’t promise that it will always be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will meet every need you have. Keep your own copy of anything important (for example by exporting your contacts).
15. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows:
- we’re not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, revenue, business opportunities or data, arising from your use of the Service; and
- our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50 if you haven’t paid us anything.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that can’t be limited or excluded by law, including your rights as a consumer under the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
16. Indemnity
If you use Linq for business, you agree to cover us against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) that come from your content, your use of the contacts you collect, or your breach of these terms or the law.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or when the law changes. We’ll show the date of the latest version at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we’ll tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before it applies. If you keep using Linq after it applies, you accept the new terms; if you don’t agree, you can cancel and close your account.
18. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the country where Linq Business is established, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you’re a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in its courts.
If something goes wrong, please email us first at hello@linq-business.com: most problems can be sorted out quickly that way.
If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a right straight away, we haven’t given it up. You may not transfer these terms to anyone else without our agreement; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of our business, and we’ll tell you if we do.
