Acceptable Use Policy
What you can't do with Linq cards, contacts, documents and teams, and what happens if someone breaks the rules.
Last updated October 24, 2026
The short version
- Be who you say you are, and only share what you have the right to share.
- Respect the people you meet: no spam, no scraping, no misuse of their details.
- Don't try to break, overload or get around how Linq works.
This summary helps you find your way; the full text below is what applies.
This policy is part of our Terms of Service. It applies to everything you do with Linq: your cards, documents, contacts, teams, invitations and integrations.
Your card and documents
Don’t use Linq to publish or share anything that:
- pretends to be another person, company or organization, or misleads people about who you are or who you work for;
- is illegal, or promotes illegal activity;
- infringes someone else’s rights, such as their copyright, trademark or privacy (for example, a logo or photo you’re not allowed to use);
- harasses, threatens or promotes hatred or violence against people based on who they are;
- is sexually explicit, or sexualizes or endangers children in any way;
- links to malware, phishing or scam pages, or tricks people into giving up passwords, money or personal information.
Contacts and messages
- Use the contacts you collect only as the law allows. Don’t send them marketing they didn’t agree to.
- Don’t collect people’s details by deceiving them, or collect more than you need.
- Don’t use team invitations, the contact form or any other part of Linq to send spam or bulk unsolicited messages. Only invite people who expect to hear from your team.
- Don’t sell or give away contacts to people who haven’t been told about it.
The Service itself
Don’t:
- try to get into accounts, cards or data that aren’t yours, or test our security without our written permission;
- scrape, crawl or harvest data from Linq cards or the app, except for search engines indexing public pages;
- overload, disrupt or interfere with the Service, or use it to attack other systems;
- copy, reverse engineer or resell the Service, or build a competing product with it, except where the law allows;
- create accounts in bulk or by automated means, or use Linq to get around a suspension;
- use NFC cards or QR codes to send people somewhere other than a genuine Linq card.
Reporting a problem
If you see a card or content that breaks this policy, or you think someone is misusing your details, email hello@linq-business.com with the card’s link and what’s wrong. We look into every report.
What we do about it
If something breaks this policy, we may remove the content, take a card offline, limit features, or suspend or close the account, depending on how serious it is and whether it has happened before. Where reasonable, we’ll tell you and give you a chance to fix it first. We may also report illegal activity to the authorities.
