9 practical ways to share your digital business card

From your phone's lock screen to your email signature: simple, practical places to put your digital business card link and QR code.

A digital business card only helps if people actually see it. The good news: unlike a paper card, you can put it everywhere, and it never runs out. Here are nine practical places to share yours, with tips for each.

1. Your phone, at the moment you meet someone

The classic use. When someone asks for your details, open your card and let them scan the QR code with their camera. It takes a few seconds and nobody needs to install anything.

Tip: in Linq, your Home screen shows your QR code, so it’s one tap from opening the app.

2. Your lock screen

Put your QR code on your lock screen wallpaper. Now you can share your card without even unlocking your phone, which is handy in a crowded room or a noisy event.

Tip: Linq’s Share kit makes the wallpaper for you, in your card color, with the QR code below the clock.

3. Your email signature

Most people you email are people you want to stay in touch with. Add a line like “Save my contact: [your link]” under your name, or a small button that links to your card.

Tip: Linq’s Share kit builds a signature from your card in three layouts, with a “Save my contact” button, ready to paste into Gmail, Outlook or Apple Mail.

4. The last slide of your presentations

When you speak at a meetup, a class or a client meeting, end with your QR code and a short call to action: “Scan to save my contact.” The audience can save your details while you take questions.

5. Your social media bios

Your LinkedIn, Instagram or X profile has a website field. Your card makes a good link there: it collects your contact options, social links and portfolio on one page.

6. Messaging apps after a call

After a phone call or video meeting, send your link in WhatsApp or by text: “Great talking to you. Here are my details.” The other person can save your contact in one tap, with your correct number and email.

Tip: on video calls, use a background with your QR code in the corner, so people can save your details during the call. The Share kit makes one for Zoom, Google Meet and Teams.

7. Printed materials

Print your QR code on flyers, packaging, menus, posters, or the stand at a trade fair. Because the link never changes, the printed code keeps working even when your details do.

8. Event name badges

If you organize or attend events with printed badges, a QR code on your badge lets people save your details without having to ask.

9. Your website’s contact or about page

Add a “Save my contact” button linking to your card. Visitors who prefer calling or messaging over a contact form get every option in one place.

Measure what works

Not every channel works equally well for everyone. Linq’s Insights splits your card views into QR code scans, shared links, email signature clicks and video call background scans, so after a few weeks you’ll see which channels bring people to your card. Read how Insights works.

And when someone shares their details back, or you scan theirs, note where you met. With Pro, Insights then shows which events and places bring you the most contacts.
